What Else Do We Do?
Pickering Running Club is more than a running club, with members taking part in many other activities on an informal basis, including evenings out and various excursions, and youth-hostelling weekends. An annual long-distance walk also takes place, covering 40+ miles.
Another example is the annual skiing trip, normally in January, which has proved to be very popular, despite damaged limbs and sore heads.
Cycling is very popular, with members of varying abilities grouping together on weekends for countryside rides, making the most of the superb local environment.
Several members also enjoy triathlons of various distances, adding swimming to the mix of activities people join in together, both in the pool and in open water.
And every December we round off the year with a Christmas party celebration for which, sadly, the photograph has been censored.
