There were new winners for the second race running in the second race of the
York 10k series at Tadcaster last Tuesday night.

Injury prone Tom Bean finally made his first appearance in the league and
dominated the men's race. An initial attempt by his rival runners to go with
him didn't work as he passed the halfway mark in 15.58. The second half at
Tadacster is slower due to a couple of testing climbs at 7k and 9k but Tom
Bean still completed the course in a fast time of 32.34. An unfortunate
marshalling error meant the next three runners strayed off course, leaving
veteran Ian Anderson to take 2nd place seeing off old rivals Mark Dowson,
Mike Raynes and Giles Hawking in the 2nd half of the race.

The women's race proved much closer as just 100m seperated the first four
runners. Robyn Hawxby just prevailed in a time of 42.06 just ahead of young
Charlotte Mason. Liz Ensor was not far behind to take third place with much
improved Sarah Douglas completing the leading quartet.

The next race in the series is at Easingwold on Tuesday May 29th.
