A group of PRCers headed to the Yorkshire Dales to tackle the 39th Swaledale marathon.  The 24 mile route takes the runners across some beautiful cross country trails with a very challenging 4,000m of climbing.  Despite starting off in some low cloud the sun emerged rewarding the runners with some outstanding views.  First back for the club was Simon Rycroft in 3.27 taking a very impressive 9th place.  Russ Grayson was next in 4.10 followed by Nick Cousins in 4.26 and Russ Charlton in 4.38.  First lady back for the club was Sue Slack putting in a strong performance to finish in 5.03 with Debbie Rycroft not far behind in 5.16.  Completing as a family Lizzy, Nicola and Jennifer Wise with Dave Hincliffe finished in 6.21 followed by husband and wife team Jennifer and Tom Buck completing the demanding course in 7.05.  Philly Hare had a great race to finish in 7.07 Hilary Turner and Sally Brown not far behind and finishing with a smile in 7.32.  The crew was rounded off by Dean Wise who put in a very determined effort despite some nasty blisters to finish in 8.12.

Closer to home a crew headed to the Sutton Bank visitor centre for the Hardmoors White Horse race series.  Mike Hetherton opted for the 10k route a very scenic dash around Gormire lake and a challenging climb back to the centre.  Hetherton completed in an amazing 1.12.44 to take first place in his age category.  The half marathon option consisted of almost 17 miles with a tough climb in the last 6 miles.  Simon Jones ran with his trademark pace and determination to finish in second place in exactly 2 hours.  Serena Partridge also had a superb race to finish in 2.51.20 followed by Amanda Welburn-Smith in 3.07.36.  Chris Adams was next back in 3.12.30 followed by Clare Mawrey in 3.17.40. Whilst on holiday down south Rachael Harper took part in the Mid Sussex sprint triathlon. A very friendly local triathlon that comprised of a 400m swim, 25k bike rounded off by a 5k run. Although not expecting to do well following a fun holiday Rachael finished in 1.26.01 taking 8th female finisher overall and was very happy to come home with a trophy and some great prizes for winning her age category in this very well run and friendly triathlon.

Also taking part in a triathlon was Tess Roebuck who competed in the TriHard ½ iroman in the Lake District.  The event comprised of a 2k swim, 48 mile bike ride and 12.8 mile run.  Tess had a superb race completing the three disciplines in 6.51.51 to take a fantastic 3rd in age category.
