On a sunny Friday evening a select bunch of Pickering Running Club members headed to Sledmere for the sunset 10k trail race through the grounds of the stately home across some challenging terrain and steep woodland climbs.  Lizzy Wise was the first back for the club to and pleased to finish the course in 50.58.  Karen Farmer-Scott really enjoyed the run to finish with a smile in 57.03.  Nicola Wise pushed hard up the hills to finish just under the hour in 59.18 and husband Dean Wise put in a superb effort to finish the demanding course in 1.09.31

Tess Roebuck took part in the TriHard ½ ironman in the Lake District.  The event comprised of a 2k swim, 48 mile bike ride and 12.8 mile run.  Tess had a superb race completing the three disciplines in 6.51.51 to take a fantastic 3rd in age category.

The fifth race in the York and District Road Race League took place on a delightfully sunny evening in the small village of Bishop Wilton.  This is considered one of the hardest races in the series as the first three miles are up a very large hill although that does give the runners a chance to fly back downhill to the finish.  Pickering Running Club were not deterred by the challenge and turned out in force.
