Irish adventures

Chris Adams made the most of his anniversary weekend in Dublin and took part in two races.  First up was the rock and roll 5k and Chis ran with his wife Lisa to finish in 28.20.  The next day was the half marathon which Chris ran on his own and true to its rock and roll name there were bands to entertain every mile of the route.  Chris ran really well given his recent niggles to finish in 2 hours and 57 seconds.  Meanwhile, wife Lisa ran the 10k in 1 hour 1 minute and 28 seconds – what a way to spend your 15th wedding anniversary!

Also in Ireland, Nicola and Dean Wise took in some parkrun tourism and attended the Listowel parkrun with 36 other runners for three laps round the park. Nicola was rather speedy in 27.16 and 4th female and Dean wasn’t far behind in 30.27.

Tuesday evening bought the York Millennium Bridge 5k race. The fast and flat course is a great on for runners trying to bag a new persona best and the representatives from Pickering tried their hardest. First back was Heather Farrow in a speedy 23.08. Kelly Gaughan was next in 23.49 and closely followed by Mike Hetherton in 24.23.

Finally, some notable parkrun milestones for club members. Pam Garnett completed her 100th parkrun in style bagging a new personal best in 26.54. Adrian Greaves also completed his 50th parkrun having run all 50 in Dalby Forest.
