A team of PRC members headed to sunny Scarborough for the popular MCains Yorkshire Coast 10k with almost 2,500 others.  It boasts a fast and flat out and back course between the Spa to the Sea life centre and as a result some great times were recorded by the crew. First back was Paul Robinson in a pacey 43.10 taking 3rd place in his age category.  Adrian Greaves set a fantastic new personal best to finish in 46.54.  Lizzy Wise finished in 49.47, pleased to get back in under 50 minutes.  Shawn Imeson was next in 51.32 followed by David Hinchliffe and Kate Towse who were in close competition finishing in 52.43 and 52.55 respectively.  Nicola Wise finished in 59.06 just ahead of daughter Jennifer Wise who ran really well to finish in 59.42 (just under the hour).  Dean Wise stormed round in 1.02.52 a fantastic effort after his marathon last week.

The Hardmoors Osmotherly races were for those wanting to pit their wills against the tough moorland taking in steep climbs and lots of mud.  The marathon option was nearly 29 miles and with almost 6,000 feet of climb was not for the faint hearted.  PRC’s Juliette Pilgrim took on the challenge and completed the course in a fantastic 6.31.58.

The half marathon option consisted of around miles with 2,700 feet of assent and PRC’s Simon Jones put in maximum effort to bag third place in 2.15.51.  Amanda Welburn-Smith showed her strength and determination to complete the challenge in 3.23.30 with speedy Serena Partridge not far behind in 3.32.46.

Sue Slack and David Stephenson combined traveling with racing to take part in the Great South Run.  They joined thousands of runners on the 10 mile route taking in the best of Portsmouth in the glorious sunshine.  Sue finished in 1.29.23 a superb effort after the York marathon last week and only 30 seconds slower than her time last year. David also had a superb race to finish in 1.31.53 with a new personal best, 5 minutes faster than last year.

Finally, PRC members don’t stop whilst on holiday!  Pam Garnett enjoyed a Parisian parkrun while Simon and Shirley Tyrell were parkrunning down under!
