Pickering Running Club headed out to the moors for the Commondale Clart with 7 representatives donning their green vests.  The 5.5 mile race starts with a big climb and then circles back round the “clarty” (muddy) moors although the weather over the last few weeks meant it wasn’t as clarty as in previous years.  First back was Russ Grayson in 20th place in 42.21 with Simon Rycroft not too far behind in 43.07.  Paul Smith showed his steely determination to finish in 49.23 with Andy Harvey hot on his heels just 14 seconds behind.  Kim Cavill was taking it cautiously after suffering from an ankle injury in October but still showed her strength to finish as first PRC lady back and 7th female finisher in 51.02. She has vowed to come back stronger for the next one to beat Andy Harvey!  Michael Hetherton had a really strong run to finish 2nd in his age category in 56.10 knocking 2 minutes off his time from the previous year.  Sally Brown rounded off the crew to finish in 70.43 also 2 minutes faster than she was last year.
