It was a good turnout for PRC at the Sutton on the Forest 10k, an increasingly popular local event. The weather was good for running enabling many to achieve personal best times. First back for Pickering was Richard Robinson, who was 17th overall out of 313 and 3rd M50, in an excellent time of 40 minutes 45 seconds. Mike Richmond was close behind, but couldn’t quite catch him, clocking 40:56. Kelly Richmond won the prize for 2nd female with her time of 42:01. Lucy Saggers was 2nd F55, crossing the line in 49:01. Karen Farmer-Scott’s time of 49:55 earned her the prize for 1st F60. Alice Hayter knocked 4 minutes off her personal best and was 2nd F50 with her time of 51:51. Nicola Thorpe was next in 56:13, followed by Serena Partridge in 56:36. Sisters Chloe and Heather Riley ran together in 70:32, then came Debi Adams in 74:31.

Emily Schofield and George Stocker ran together, crossing the finish line in 78:17.

Andrew Bates ran the Vitality London 10k finishing in a very respectable 51 minutes 40 seconds. It was a landmark, and potentially a mid-life crisis triggering event for Andrew as his son Nathan beat him for the first time by cruising across the finish line 22 seconds before him.

Steph Young joined many others for the Sunrise Walk, a 10k walk starting at 6am on Scarborough seafront, to raise funds for St Catherine’s Hospice.

The official results for the Dave Parry/Let’s Run Summer Fell Race Series have now been published confirming that Pickering Ladies Team reign supreme yet again, winning 3 out of the last 4 Summer Series, an awesome achievement. Lucy Saggers was 3rd female overall and 1st F55. Alice Hayter was 1st F50, and 4th overall. Jo Towler was 2nd F50, Nicola Thorpe was 3rd F60 and Sue Slack was 3rd F65. Congratulations to Pickering Ladies.
