Wow what a week for PRC

On Saturday Simon Jones ran the LDWA challenge event, The Woldsman 30. This 30 mile route, based in Driffield takes runners over Wolds with some steep climbs and descents. Simon triumphed, finishing first out of 83 competitors in an amazing time of 4 hours 54 minutes.

With some trepidation, Charlotte Dennison tackled the Dales Traverse, her first self-supported, self- navigated race so there was an extra mile or two in addition to the 55km route following Wainwright’s coast to coast route from Kirkby Stephen to Richmond. In total there was 5,650 feet of climb with 2,000 in the first 4 miles. A tough start! Charlotte did brilliantly to finish this epic challenge in 11 hours 15 minutes.

Three Pickering runners competed in the Mind over Moors Trail Run to raise funds for youth mental health charities. This 10km race was based at the Cycle Hub in Fryup Dale and had over 1,000 feet of climb. Louise Bailey-Parkin crossed the line in 62 minutes 50 seconds followed by Alison Hyde in 73 minutes 23 seconds and Shirley Tyrrell in 78 minutes 59 seconds

The latest counter in the Winter Fell Race Series took place on Sunday, The Heartbeat Hobble, with a great turnout from PRC.
