Hi Nick Outram and Tom Pilley took on the mighty challenge of Old County Tops in the Lake District. As the name suggests the 35.5 mile route takes in all the high points including Helvellyn, Scafell and the Old Man of Coniston totalling a tremendous 11,273 feet of quad busting climb and hair-raising descents. Towards the end of a race like this it is difficult to tell which is more painful! The weather was warm and sunny so conditions were dry underfoot, the views gorgeous, but runners had to ensure they were well hydrated. Nick and Tom did brilliantly to finish the challenge in 10 hours 28 minutes.
Sally Brown took part in the Cleveland Sprint Triathlon, a 400m pool swim, 18.5 mile bike ride and a 5k run. Sally completed all three in a total of 1 hour 41 minutes, an excellent result.
Serena Partridge took part in the Goole Riverbank Challenge 10k, a multi terrain race along the River Ouse. Serena’s strong time of 56 minutes 21 seconds placed her 2nd F50.
