A quiet week for PRC

It was a quiet weekend for Pickering runners with only one local race giving everyone time to recover from recent exertions and enjoy their favourite routes through wintry countryside.

Paul Hickman ran the annual Tadcaster 10 mile race. Paul completed the undulating road course in a competitive 1 hour 16 minutes placing him 279th out of 847 runners.

Traveling further afield, Andrew Bates competed in the RunThrough 10k in Queen Elizabeth Park, London with his son. They crossed the finish line together in an excellent time of 54 minutes 4 seconds.

It was not a day for personal bests for those braving Dalby parkrun on Saturday. Runners were treated to a winter wonderland of snow and ice and had to carefully crunch their way round the 5k course. Conditions were very different for Pam and Colin Garnett who win the prize this week for traveling the furthest. They ran the Brooklyn Bridge parkrun. The course starts on Pier 1 in Brooklyn Bridge Park and loops round several more piers before finishing in front of the Granite Prospect Steps with spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline, probably as different to Dalby as it is possible to get!
