Dalby Forest hosted the Wild Deer Events last weekend. Runners could choose from marathon, half marathon or 10k routes along beautiful forest tracks. The weather was great for running but conditions were very wet underfoot in places.
Ryan Gaughan was the only PRC runner who opted for the Marathon. His excellent time of 3 hours 7 mins placed him 2nd out of 21 runners.
There were 5 members of PRC in the Half Marathon. Chris Croft’s speedy performance placed him 4th out of 166 runners with his time of 1 hour 29 minutes, just 3 seconds behind 3rd place. Mike Richmond also had a great run and his time of 1 hour 37 minutes placed him 9th. Bridget Houlston ran well crossing the finish line in 1 hour 52 minutes placing her 5th female. A close battle between David Stephenson and Lynn Humpleby followed with less than 30 seconds separating them, both clocking a very competitive 2 hours 4 minutes.
Shirley Tyrrell opted for the 10k and had a great run, crossing the finish line in 1 hour 4 minutes. Chloe and Heather Riley were next and finished in 1 hour 22 minutes together with mum Rosie. Graham Robinson was 3rd M70 with his time of 1 hour 26 minutes.
The Garnett family had a great day out at the Croft Circuit Darlington, a very well organised event; even the weather was right with cold crisp conditions good for long distance running. Mum Pam was pleased with her time of 1 hour 50 minutes for the 10 mile race as she is still recovering from flu. Dad Colin and daughter Lucy ran the half marathon in 2 hours and 6 minutes and paced daughter Rachel for part of her marathon which she went on to complete in 3 hours 55 minutes, justifiably over the moon to achieve sub 4 hours for the first time.
